The University President presents a certificate of appreciation to one of the superior students

   The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abbas M. Al-Bakry, in the presence of the scientific assistant Dr. Jane J. Stephan and the head of the Department of Student Affairs Dr. Mohammed Q. Mohammed presented a certificate of appreciation to the first student Ali J. Mohammed for his excellence in the summer training organized by the university for its students.

The Dr. Al-Bakry said, "This certificate is a tribute to the outstanding role and effort of Ali J. Mohammed, a student of Business Informatics Technology department at the Faculty of BIC in passing the summer training course on graduation requirements, which was held at Zain and in cooperation with the University of UOITC.

The university president emphasized on the importance of paying attention to students by training them in public and private institutions in order to identify the needs of the labor market and exert efforts by university staff to develop the skills of these students, especially those who are graduating and developing their scientific skills.

Noting that the UOITC will graduate this year 2017-2018 its first intake class after its establishment in 2014

The University and the Commission Give the Ministry a Group of Programming Channels belong to the Electronic Gate 

The UOITC and ICCI represented by its president Dr. Abbas M. Al-Bakry signed a document to hand over a set of program channels to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research \ Department of studies and planning and follow-up.

This came after a meeting between the president of University and Commission the Prof. Dr. Abbas M. al-Bakry, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Dr. Fuad Q. Mohammed, the Director of the Department of Studies and Planning and Follow-up, the Dr. Suhail N. Abdullah, the General Director of Central Admission and the technical team for these channels.

The document included giving the source code and DBs of the Department of Studies and Planning and Follow-up for the following channels; the channel of the first graduates of the institutes, the channel of acceptance of distinguished employees, the channel of authorized teachers to study, the channel of amending the nomination of whom centrally accepted in the previous academic year, and the channel of accepting students of the previous year graduates that they did not have a central acceptance, and the submission and admission to the colleges that belong the two Waqfs.

The Vice-Minister for Scientific Research and the Director General of the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up praised the efforts exerted to achieve this important stage. From his side, the President of the University and the Commission expressed the readiness of the University and the Commission to fully support the Department of Studies and Planning as well as the rest of the ministry departments and its universities till reaching to the goal of the ministry in implementing the Electronic governance.

The Student Activities Department organizes an intellectual competition for students of the college of Business Informatics
The Department of Student Activities at the University of Information and Communication Technology organized an intellectual competition for students of the college of Business Informatics.
The intellectual competition was held between the Department of Information Systems Management and the Information Technology and Business Department at the College of Business Information at the main hall of the university.  A number of university students and lecturers attended the competition which was under the patronage of Dr. Emad Kazem Al Kaabi, Director of Student Activities at the University.
The University seeks to cultivate the spirit of positive competition between its students and to promote the intellectual, cognitive and cultural reality among the students. This competition is in compliance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The questions were divided into eight topics: religion, faith, economics, computer, Arabic language, literature, English language, geography, intelligence questions and miscellaneous. The questions and organizing the competition were organized by two lecturers who are Mohammed Abud Alraheem and  Yasser Mohammed Abd.
The competition ended with the IT team winning the IT Systems Management Team team by seven points to four. It is worth mentioning that this competition will serve as an exit for a team of students participating in the intellectual and cultural competitions and competitions organized by the Iraqi universities.

The Completion of the First Semester Examinations in the College of Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Communications

Students of the first stages of the College of Engineering at the UOITC finished their first exams for the academic year 2017-2018.

The University and the College of Engineering with both of its departments; the Media Technology Engineering and the Communication Technology Engineering, have provided all the necessaries for implementing the Examinations. The test rooms are equipped with a number of computers and advanced display screens. Noting that The exams included the theoretical part while the practical tests will begin in the next week.

The President of UOITC, Prof. Dr. Abbas M. Al-Bakry did an inspection tour in the exam halls to be informed about the progress of the examinations and to find out the most important requirements of students and teaching staff at the college of Engineering.

Al-Bakry directed the college staff to take care the students and to prepare the best situations during the study and examinations times. University president referred to the role that the college of engineering in UOITC can do in establishing developed society can keep up the revolution of Information and Communications which is happened in the world nowadays that the Iraq by its governmental and private institutes aims to reach to the level of the developed countries.

The participation of one of UOITC teachers in the membership of the Council for Improving the Quality of Engineering Education in Iraq 
 A member of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Communications participated in the ceremony to launch national standards for the adoption of engineering education programs in Iraq. The announcement came under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the deputies and heads of Iraqi universities and specialists in the field of engineering where the step of the supervisory and scientific evaluation of the formation of the Council for the improvement of the quality of engineering education in Iraq, which was one of its members is Dr. Ahmed Abdul Saheb Hashim, Faculty of Engineering, University of Information Technology and Communications. This Council seeks to be a central reference in the field of quality assurance procedures and academic accreditation of engineering education programs in Iraq, and enable engineering colleges in Iraqi universities to implement plans to improve the quality of education in accordance with international standards and access to academic accreditation. Al-Issa said in a speech that the program accreditation criteria are included in all details of the educational process in order to improve its quality from the perspective of strategic management and overall quality, which is considered the cornerstone in the quality of educational institutions, indicating that the importance of program accreditation lies in the quality of graduates and the installation of accreditation badge in the graduation certificate. He added that the national standards for the adoption of engineering education programs is the first of its kind in Iraq, noting that this achievement came as a culmination of the continuous effort of the Council to improve the quality of engineering education in Iraq after the experience of many countries under the umbrella of the Washington agreement such as the United States and the United Kingdom , which is sponsored by the Global Engineering Alliance to enable national accreditation councils to gain international recognition for accreditation within the national geographic framework through the harmonization of approved standards. Dr. Nabil Al-Araji, Chairman of the Supervisory and Scientific Evaluation Organization, expressed his hope that the quality improvement councils will announce the other programs and their national standards with a map of their own, leading to the process of comprehensive integration in the application of national quality standards. In this context, the members of the Council for the Improvement of the Quality of Engineering Education in Iraq reviewed the map of the details that produced those criteria and the philosophy of choice that was adopted.

The President of UOITC inspecting the conduct of the final examinations of the Faculty of Business Informatics 
 The President of the University of Information Technology and Communications , Dr. Abbas Mohsen al-Bakri, conducted an inspection tour of the classrooms for the students of the first stage in  the Faculty of Business Informatics. During his inspection of the classrooms, the university president stressed the need to provide students with the appropriate atmosphere and to prepare all the requirements that lead to the success of the process of conducting the quarterly tests and completing them smothly. Al-Bakri recommended the students to persevere and excel in their academic life and to achieve success in the quarterly exams, which is an important step to move to another stage. He added that the country is going through exceptional circumstances and this requires us to be ready as a university and students to be up to the responsibility. The president of the university  also mentioned during his tour several things, including the commitment to the specific times of the exam and the need to clarify the questions so that their answers are specific, adding that our university is specialized in the field of information technology, and should be upgraded as an important scientific edifice and students are the basic pillar and development of their scientific capabilities through these scientific tests.

UOITC visits Dar Al-Mahaba for the care of people with special needs
 A delegation from the Presidency of the University of Information Technology and Communications visited the Mother Teresa (Dar Al Mahaba) for the care of children with special needs. 
 On Monday morning, the university delegation visited Dar al-Mahabah where the delegation was briefed on the situation of children with disabilities and the problems faced by the nuns in the house. Most of these needs focused on providing them with the necessary supplies. The visit comes within the framework of the voluntary work program organized by the university and its high sense that it is an integral part of the institutions of the society with responsibilities and duties. The delegation was consisted of  the assistant of the president of the university for scientific affairs Dr. Jean Jalil Ateifan accompanied by Dr. Anam Rikan, head of the department of scientific affairs.

University of Information Technology and Communications got the Sponsoring of the Springer to Publish the Researches of its next Conference

The UOITC plans to hold its third international scientific conference on new trends in information and communication technology applications.

UOITC conference is sponsored by Springer, one of the world's leading publishers of books and researches in all fields, including electronic, scientific, technical and medical journals, and hosts a number of scientific databases.

The UOITC will publish the papers of the conference in Springer through CCIS Journal. The conference will be convened in October 2018 under the title (NTICT'2018) "New Trends in Information and Applications of Communication Technology" that the most its prominent points will be about artificial intelligence and computer networks.
