The Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Division at the university organized the sixth annual job and software fair with the participation of a number of private sector companies and in cooperation with the Sulaymaniyah Company for the production of milk and foodstuffs.
The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, said during his opening speech of the exhibition that “the university sponsors many programs and projects for building and developing capacities, whether for students or employees of state institutions, especially in the fields of information technology management, media and communication engineering, in addition to information technology within medical diagnostics, which is one of the disciplines that are consistent with the requirements of the United Nations Sustainable Development Program.
Al-Bakri praised the important role of students’ participation in this experience, which represents an effort that extends over the years of study and hardship to be crowned with products in which their skills and ideas are displayed in the service of our dear country.
The representative of the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Assistant Director of the Development Department, Dr. Hassan Mohammed, said that the Ministry has made great strides in supporting the efforts of localizing jobs in the private sector, highlighting competencies and providing job opportunities for graduates. He added that the University of Information Technology is one of the leading universities in this field and is constantly seeking to hold a job fair for the sixth year in a row.
For her part, the representative of the Sulaymaniyah Company for Dairy and Food Production, Mrs. Jihan Mahdi Kazim, indicated that such exhibitions contribute to the development and rehabilitation of students to participate in building their country. Stressing that the company seeks effective cooperation in providing job opportunities for graduates.
While the official of the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Division at the university, Mr. Awad Kazim, spoke about the role of the division in highlighting the graduation projects of university students in its three faculties, noting that the exhibition contains more than 70 projects, Many public and private sector companies participated in the field of information and communication technology as well as other fields.
