Sponsored by Sulaymaniyah Company for the Production of Dairy and Foodstuffs, the Section of Employment and Follow-up at the University of Information Technology and Communication (UoITC) organized its 6th annual software job fair.
Several private sector companies, specializing in information technology & communication and other fields, also participated in the fair.
In his opening speech, the president of the university, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, said that UoITC sponsors many projects and programs related to building and improving the abilities of the students and employees of governmental institutions.
Dr. Al-Bakri added that these programs specialize in information technology, media engineering, and communication along with information technology within the medical fields corresponding to the requirements of the United Nations Program for Sustainable Development.
Dr. Al-Bakri praised the important role of the student’s participation in this annual event, which represents an effort that extends over years of studying and hardship, adding that this role is crowned with their production in which their skills and ideas are presented to serve our beloved country, Iraq.
The representative of the Department of Studies, Planning and Inspection at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hassan Muhammad, stated that the ministry has made great strides in supporting efforts to localize jobs in the private sector, highlight competencies and provide job opportunities for graduate students.
Dr. Hassan added that the University of Information Technology is one of the leading universities in this field constantly striving to hold a job fair for the sixth year successively.
The representative of the Sulaymaniyah Company for Dairy and Foodstuff Production, Ms. Jihan Mahdi Kadhum, indicated that such fairs contribute to the development and qualification of the students to participate in order to build thier country, stressing that the company seeks effective cooperation in providing job opportunities for graduates.
While the official of the Rehabilitation,Employment & Follow-up Section at the university, lecturer Awad Kadhum, spoke about the role of the section in highlighting the graduation projects of the university’s students in its three faculties, noting that the exhibition presented more than 70 projects.
