The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, received the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Scientific Affairs and Artificial Intelligence, Prof. Dhia’a Al-Jumaili.
The two sides discussed the role of artificial intelligence at the country level and establishing technological incubators to select some talents from primary and postgraduate students, and they also discussed some aspects of artificial intelligence policy and the national strategy for artificial intelligence at the country level and produced results such as providing technological incubators for gifted students and finding a special way to contain these energies by providing job opportunities.
The two sides also discussed mechanisms for developing the University of Information Technology and Communications into a smart university and the necessary support from the state and the Ministry of Higher Education, in addition to adopting many initiatives in cooperation with the Prime Minister’s Office and preparing laws related to artificial intelligence and digital transformations, especially since the University had a major role in the process of producing laws for digital transformations, opening new centers and laboratories at the University, the mechanism for localizing artificial intelligence within Iraq, and providing the necessary requirements for the use of the Arabic language in artificial intelligence.
