The concerned committee discussed in (coordinating and managing government activity towards electronic governance) in its sixth session its recommendation: “The concerned team shall develop a plan for the Million Programmers Initiative by submitting a letter to obtain approval from the relevant ministries on the requirements for implementing the plan.”
A meeting also took place between the President of the University and a member of the government team, Prof. Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, Dr. Barraq Abdul Karim, Advisor to the Ministry of Communications, and Mr. Abdul Adhim Al-Saleh, Member of the Board of Commissioners of the Media and Communications Authority, regarding implementing the recommendations of the Office Order Committee No. 22 of 2020.
Dr. Al-Bakri said, “The Iraqi government’s orientation towards digital inclusion encouraged the Communications and Media Commission to support the initiative to develop capabilities and build skills among graduates and students within a development project in which the first stage trains trainers, including specialized professors from the University of Information Technology and Communications and other universities, and it may also include specialized ministries for the purpose of establishing the Iraqi digitization community, followed by building software systems, information security, artificial intelligence, and developing communications and information technology infrastructure.”
Al-Bakri stated that this initiative was launched by the Communications and Media Commission.
