Lect. Dr. Khadija Abbas Sahan, a lecturer from the Biomedical Informatics College at the University of Information Technology and Communications, participated in the activities of the Second International Conference on Cancer Research and Medical Genetics, which was held at Al-Mustansiriya University, with her research entitled:
“ODAM: A Novel Tumor Suppressor Silenced in Breast Cancer”.
The research addressed the role of the ODAM gene as a novel tumor suppressor whose activity is silenced in cases of breast cancer, which opens up important research prospects in the field of early diagnosis and gene therapy for this type of cancer.
This research is a valuable addition to the scientific library in the field of medical genetics and gynecological cancers, as it contains results that can contribute to understanding the molecular mechanisms that cause tumor growth and developing more precise treatment strategies.
The conference aims to promote scientific understanding of cancer research and medical genetics through the exchange of experiences and recent research findings, and to review the latest innovative technologies in the fields of diagnosis and treatment, thereby contributing to the development of national cancer control programs and expanding the horizons of international scientific cooperation.
