The Informatics Institute for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Information Technology and Communications discussed the master’s thesis submitted by student Farah Faiq Kamel, entitled:
“A system for detecting network breaches using deep learning on the AWS cloud platform”.

The thesis dealt with the design of an advanced network intrusion detection system based on deep learning techniques, while taking advantage of the capabilities of cloud computing via the AWS platform.
The proposed system consisted of two basic stages: a data preprocessing stage, and a classification stage using deep learning algorithms.
After extensive scientific discussion, the student obtained a master’s degree in computer science with a very good grade.
