In an advanced step towards enhancing digital transformation and consolidating the principles of transparency and accountability, the technical team at the University of Information Technology and Communications, in cooperation with the logistical support team at the National Data Center at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, completed the development of the Open Government Portal. This portal is expected to be launched soon as part of the state’s comprehensive plan for digital transformation.
This came during an expanded meeting held at the headquarters of the Digital Data Center, chaired by Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, President UoITC. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ammar Mazhar Al-Tamimi, Director of the National Data Center. The latest developments in the Open Government project were discussed by the attendees, emphasizing the importance of supporting this initiative through the development of digital systems and the strengthening of institutional work mechanisms.
The meeting also discussed the continued implementation of the capacity-building program in cooperation with the National Data Center, hosted by UoITC, with the addition of advanced training courses within the program, aimed at raising the efficiency of state cadres in the use of modern digital technologies
Dr. Al-Bakri stressed that “the launch of the Open Government Portal represents an important milestone in the process of administrative reform and establishes a new phase of government services based on transparency.” He emphasized that achieving this goal requires advanced digital infrastructure and trained human competencies
The meeting resulted in several recommendations, most notably: organizing an official forum to launch the portal and intensifying training programs for government employees, which will enhance government performance and support the drive toward comprehensive digital transformation.
