The Quality Assurance Department at UoITC organized a live presentation of an online workshop entitled “2027 QS Rankings Cycle: A Complete Guide to Data Submission & Deadlines” held by QS.
The workshop was delivered by a QS representative and clarified by the Head of the Global Rankings Unit at the university, Lecturer Dr. Qusay Shihab Hamed. The lecturer provided an explanation of the new version of QS Rankings and the mechanism for submitting the required data to the organization. He also reviewed the different types of rankings such as: the World Rankings, Asian Rankings, Arab Rankings, Subject Rankings, and the QS Sustainability Rankings.
The workshop placed particular emphasis on the importance of Academic Reputation and Employer Reputation, pointing out that these two indicators account for 50% of the final score in the ranking. The organization stressed the necessity for universities to promptly provide lists including no fewer than 400 researchers from other universities and 400 employees from various institutions and companies, so that QS can reach out to them through the Academic Reputation and Employer Reputation surveys.
This presentation was organized with the aim of enhancing collective understanding of international ranking mechanisms and data requirements, thereby contributing to a clearer vision among staff members regarding the steps for collecting and preparing the necessary information to include the university in these rankings. The lecturer also stressed the importance of cooperation between the university’s faculty and the department in providing an accurate database of both local and foreign researchers, in addition to employees from institutions and companies, within the specified timelines, to ensure strengthening the university’s position and enabling it to enter the global rankings.
