In an achievement that highlights the transformative role of education within prisons, students Aqeel Zaid Taleb and Muhannad Mazen Khalil, graduates of the University Education Center at Karkh Prison, affiliated with the Business Informatics College, presented their graduation project titled “Design and Implementation of a Digital System for Prison Management and the Education System for Inmates,” in the presence of academic and official attendance.
During the discussion of the project, University President Dr. Abbas Al-Bakri, emphasized that “this project represents the first successful outcome of the University education program in prisons, and confirms that the educational environment is capable of producing realistic solutions that serve society in all its sectors.”
For his part, Murad Al-Sa’adi, the Ministry of Justice’s representative and the ministry’s media director, praised the initiative, saying, “The project represents a qualitative shift in the prison management system, and we will seriously study it for implementation in our reformatory institutions.”
And this project is the coronation of the University education program at Karkh Prison, launched by the University of Information Technology and Communications as a pioneering experiment for the rehabilitation and social integration of inmates, demonstrating that education is an effective tool for reform and reconstruction.
