The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the University of Information Technology and Communications organized a workshop entitled “National Institutional Accreditation Standards for Higher Education Institutions.” Lecturer Khadhra’a Hassan Ali gave a comprehensive presentation of the standards approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with a focus on the steps that must be followed to achieve those standards, which contributes to enhancing the University’s position and obtaining accreditation. The workshop also reviewed the performance improvement plan, highlighting the most important challenges facing the University in achieving institutional accreditation requirements, and it comes within the department’s efforts to enhance the culture of accreditation and academic quality, in a way that supports achieving the University’s goals of institutional excellence. The workshop concluded with a discussion session in which the attendees participated by raising their inquiries and interventions to clarify some concepts related to institutional accreditation and ways to achieve it effectively.
