College of Biomedical Informatics organized a scientific field visit from the Bioinformatics and Intelligent Medical Systems departments for fourth-year students to the Forensic Medicine Department at the Ministry of Health. The visit aims to link the theoretical with the practical aspect, as it included a tour of the Department of Attribution and Lineage, the Department of Information Technology, and the DNA fingerprinting laboratories. The specialists provided a detailed explanation of the mechanism of collecting samples of genetic material and extracting genetic sequence data using sequence analysis devices. Along with highlighting the importance of these technologies in the forensic medical field and the ways to use them in various legal and medical applications.
