Under the patronage of the President of the University of Information Technology and Communications, Prof. Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the Informatics Institute for Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Suha Mohammed Hadi, the institute hosted a high-level academic delegation of professors from German universities, in coordination with the Arab and International Organizations Department in the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Directorate at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The meeting was attended by the University president’s assistants, deans of colleges, and assistant deans of the institute, as the program included an introductory presentation on German universities and the specializations available at their colleges, in addition to avenues for joint academic and research cooperation.
The visit aimed to enhance cooperation between the two sides, as academic and research programs at German universities were introduced during the meeting, as well as mechanisms for twinning graduate studies and exchanging expertise.
The Dean of the Institute also highlighted the Institute’s role as a leading research environment in the field of informatics, noting the development of student research at the diploma, master’s, and doctoral levels, as well as the applications of automated systems.
The meeting included a lecture by a German professor on the admission and registration procedures for international students at German universities, both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Dean of the Institute honored the German delegation, expressing her gratitude and appreciation for this initiative, as she emphasized the University’s commitment to expanding academic cooperation and research exchange, including student training programs and developing the skills of faculty members, under the auspices of the support provided by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Directorate of Scholarships and Cultural Relations.
This visit comes in implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 17, Partnerships for achieving Goals.
