The College of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications organized a scientific workshop titled “Modern Techniques in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS): A Window into the Genome and Gene Expression.”

The workshop was presented by Dr. Khadija Abbas Sahan and Dr. Wissam Hazem from the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Baghdad, who reviewed the latest methods used in genome analysis and gene expression studies, as well as the importance of these techniques in diagnosing genetic diseases and supporting advanced medical research.

The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the mechanisms of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and their clinical and research applications, as well as to enhance their skills in managing and analyzing genetic data according to the latest scientific methodologies. The workshop witnessed broad participation from educators, researchers, and specialists in the field of biomedical informatics.
