The Informatics Institute for Postgraduate Studies represented by the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Suha Muhammad Hadi, participated in the meeting of the Scientific Committee of the First Smart Cities Forum in Iraq, which comes in preparation for the Iraqi Smart Cities Forum scheduled to be held on 17th of February, 2025.
The meeting was attended by a group of representatives of concerned authorities, Iraqi universities, the National Investment Authority, and the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate.
The Iraqi Smart Cities Forum comes as a first step towards building new sustainable and green cities, with a smart, civilized character in an environment that is consistent with sustainable development goals.
The forum addresses a number of main topics, including the importance of digital transformation in developing cities, the investment opportunities available in this field, and global best practices for establishing efficient and smart cities.
The forum is held by the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the International Chamber of Commerce in Iraq in cooperation with the National Investment Authority, the New Cities Implementation Authority in the Ministry of Construction and Housing, and the National Security Advisory, with the participation of the Arab Cities Organization / Arab Forum for Smart Cities.
