The University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC) has been featured for the sixth consecutive year in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. This global ranking, issued by the Times Higher Education organization, aims to assess the performance of universities based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Despite being a relatively young and small university specialized in the field of information and communication technology, UoITC has achieved notable progress in the Impact Rankings over the years. This demonstrates its strong commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The university showed a strong commitment to the UN’s SDGs and has achieved outstanding performance in several key areas in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.
The university has participated in eight Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) this year, achieving its highest scores in four key areas:
SDG 5: Gender Equality
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals (a mandatory goal for all participating universities).

The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings focus on how universities address global challenges such as poverty eradication, quality education, gender equality, and clean energy, through teaching, research, community outreach, and institutional governance.

Among Iraqi universities, only six universities were ranked in the top 1000 globally, 26 universities were placed in the 1001–1500 band, and 56 universities, including UoITC, were ranked in the 1501+ category.
