The Institute of Informatics for Post Graduate Studies (IIPS) at the University of Information Technology and Communications received the deans of faculties of Information Technology and Computer Science at Iraqi universities. The Dean of the Institute of Informatics and Chairwoman of the Deans’ Committee of Faculties of Information Technology and Computer Science in Iraq, Prof. Dr. Suha Mohammed Hadi, met, in Baghdad, with the deans of faculties of Information Technology and Computer Science at a regular meeting of the Deans’ Committee. The attendees discussed a number of topics related to the establishment of new academic departments and the development of academic programs to keep pace with rapid developments in areas of technological specialization. They as well discussed challenges and enhanced cooperation between faculties through joint projects and academic exchange initiatives. The Chairwoman of the Deans’ Committee emphasized the importance of this periodic meeting in enhancing communication and unifying visions among academic institutions specialized in this field in all its specializations, with the aim of raising the level of higher education in Iraq. For his part, the President of UoITC, Professor Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, honored the deans participating in the meeting. The deans praised the good organization of the meeting and the hospitality provided by the Informatics Institute and the university, commending the efforts made by the Chairwoman of the Committee and the University Presidency in following up on important files that contribute to the development of the education and information technology sector in the country.
