The Committee for the Implementation of the Criminal Justice Data Integration Project, established under Diwani Order No. (25260 of 2025), held its first meeting in its new formation at the National Security Advisory headquarters, chaired by Dr. Ali Hassan Tarish, the scientific assistant at the Institute of Informatics for Graduate Studies at the University of Information Technology and Communications, with the attendance of committee members and several experts.

The project aims to create an integrated information system for criminal justice, supported by a participatory database that includes electronic monitoring of detention records, digital reporting of detainees, and verification of news and releases. This will allow for tracking the movement of suspects through judicial and executive institutions according to approved controls and standards, ensuring the rights of both the accused and society alike.

The meeting discussed the directives of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, regarding the necessity to overcome previous policies resisting change and to adopt new frameworks that enhance digital transformation in justice institutions while preserving the gains from the first phase in terms of technical staff and equipment. It emphasized establishing the concept of “Criminal Justice Employee” and updating procedures using a unified digital system.

Additionally, mechanisms for deploying the system in all relevant institutions before the end of the current year were discussed, along with the distribution of responsibilities and necessary recommendations in coordination with concerned parties to provide the required support and facilities for the project’s success.

It is noteworthy that the project is supported and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, while the University of Information Technology and Communications continues to provide technical and administrative support in coordination with the National Security Advisory, benefiting from international experiences and practices in this field.
