The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Biomedical Informatics organized an awareness seminar titled “The Role of Early Screening in Breast Cancer Prevention” as part of the Pink Month activities. The seminar was presented by the assistant instructors Shaimaa Khalid Mufaq and Fatima Qasim Abdul Majid.
It aimed to raise health awareness among women about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, highlighting its effective role in increasing chances of recovery and reducing complications resulting from delayed diagnosis. The speakers addressed the correct methods for self-examination at home, while emphasizing the importance of regular visits to a doctor for clinical examinations and mammogram screenings, which are among the most accurate means for early detection of tumors.
The seminar concluded with a call to enhance the culture of regular screening and to prioritize preventive health, urging all women to make regular examinations a part of their lifestyle to safeguard their health and well-being.
