Students from the Department of Smart Medical Systems at the College of Biomedical Informatics participated in the first conference of the Iraqi Health Insurance Authority, held in Baghdad.
The event was supervised by Dr. Zainab Naaman Youssef and a group of faculty members from the department as part of the extracurricular activities for the Healthcare Systems Administration course.
The aim of the participation was to familiarize students with the Iraqi health insurance system and encourage them to analyze and compare it with global models, as well as to propose administrative and technical solutions that are suitable for the Iraqi context and contribute to enhancing health equity.
The conference also included a technical exhibition featuring specialized companies, along with several hospitals that provide services under the health insurance program, giving students the opportunity to learn about the latest digital solutions in healthcare and interact directly with partners in the health sector in Iraq.
