Two fourth-year students from the College of Biomedical Medical Informatics at the University participated in publishing a research paper at the international scientific conference organized by the University of Tikrit, which is specialized in mathematics, artificial intelligence, information technology, and communications.

The research, presented by students Jaafar Mohammed and Maryam Moan, was titled:
“Pattern Recognition of Core-promoter DNA Sequences based on Recurrent Neural Network”
It addressed a specialized topic in the analysis of DNA core-promoter sequences using artificial intelligence techniques, specifically Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), with the goal of enhancing the accuracy of biological analysis and advancing its applications in the field of bioinformatics.

This paper was published as part of the proceedings of the International Conference on Applied Innovation in IT, one of the international conferences indexed in the Scopus database – Q3 ranking. The work was supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Khadija Abbas Sahen, Lecturer Ahmed Uday Ezzat, and Lecturer Shaimaa Khalid Muwafaq. This achievement represents the outcome of a collaborative scientific effort between students and supervisors, reflecting the high level of research excellence among our students. It also serves as a motivation for further contributions and innovation in the field of scientific research.
