As part of the UoITC’s efforts to improve the quality of education and enhance the performance of its academic programs, the Department of Quality Assurance held a workshop on “Preparing a Plan to Improve the Educational Program Quality” in the central hall of the College of Engineering. The workshop was presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hussein Abdul Redha, Head of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance. It included a detailed explanation of the requirements for program accreditation and the mechanism for writing a self-evaluation report and improvement plan with the aim of developing the curriculum and aligning it with the needs of the labor market. The workshop also addressed the importance of utilizing employer feedback questionnaires to evaluate the performance of university graduates and ensure that the curricula are consistent with the vision, mission, and objectives of the academic department. This workshop is part of the activities through which the university seeks to ensure academic quality and achieve accreditation standards, given its significant impact on enhancing graduates’ competence and raising the university’s global academic reputation. These efforts are also consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal (4) Quality Education by improving the quality of educational programs and modernizing curricula, and Goal (17) Forming partnerships to achieve the goals, by involving employers in scientific committees concerned with developing curricula to suit the needs of the labor market.
