As part of the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC) continuous endeavor to enhance the culture of quality and apply international standards, the Quality Assurance Department, represented by the Global Rankings Unit, organized an interactive workshop to follow up and explain the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) organization’s lecture on the Sustainability Rankings for 2026, which was held virtually entitled “QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026.”

The presentation included a detailed follow-up of the content of the electronic workshop presented by experts from the QS organization, and its topics focused on the classification methodology and explanation of the new performance indicators adopted in the 2026 course, and the three sustainability themes, as the evaluation criteria related to environmental, social and governance impacts were reviewed, as well as the eligibility and competition requirements, which are concerned with clarifying the conditions for participation and the mechanisms for including universities in the classification.

The lecturer Dr. Qusay Shehab Hamad, head of the International Classifications Unit at the university, held an interactive session to clarify the methodological aspects and link the QS requirements to the university’s practical reality, which contributes to prepare accurate action plans to collect and document the required data.

This event comes within the university’s strategy to keep pace with the latest global rankings trends and enhance its international academic presence, which is an essential indicator of the commitment of educational institutions to achieve the sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
