The Continuious Education Center, in collaboration with the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, held a seminar on promoting a culture of participation in decision-making as part of the implementation of activities for the National Strategy for Education and Training for September 2025.

The seminar, presented by Lec. Nidal Kumar Abdul Wahid, head of the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, highlighted that decision-making is a dynamic, sequential process that involves multiple interactions at various stages, culminating in the decision-making phase, which affects the efficiency of the decision. It emphasized the necessity of providing an appropriate social, cultural, legal, and political environment for successful decision-making.

The seminar included an explanation of the characteristics of decision-making processes during crises, as well as human development and encouragement to enhance the culture of participation in decision-making. It promoted acceptance of sound opinions that arise from successful planning through an electronic survey published during the seminar, discussing the contribution of technology to enhancing a culture of participation in decision-making, integrity, and transparency, while ensuring that there is no exploitation, manipulation, or leakage of information.

The seminar also indicated that the decision-making process can take various forms; it may address specific issues, choose the right alternatives, or contribute to reducing losses, among other outcomes that organizations and institutions aim for, even within households where participation in decision-making is present.
