The College of Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Communications organized a scientific workshop titled “Air, Environmental, and Waste Pollution,” presented by Assistant Professor Ola Adel Qasim from the Department of Information and Communication Technology Engineering.

The workshop addressed the effects of pollution on the environment and public health, focusing on the five sources of pollution: water, air, noise, soil, and radiation.

The workshop also discussed innovative solutions and best practices for addressing these issues, as well as explaining the Air Quality Index (AQl⁺) and suspended particulate matter (PM), and presenting specialized websites that monitor daily air pollution levels.

The workshop aims to raise environmental awareness and identify sustainable strategies that contribute to improving the quality of life for current and future generations, as well as achieving the third and thirteenth Sustainable Development Goals on good health and well-being, which is climate action.
