A doctoral thesis on providing support to the elderly with speech and hearing problems was discussed at the Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Information Technology and Communications.

The discussion of Ph.D student, Kawthar Thabit Saleh, in the field of computer science, was held under the title:
“Audio-Visual Avatar Providing Assistance to Elderly Peoples having Oral and Aural Problems using Semantic Segmentation and Deep Human Motion Generation “

The thesis aims to present the construction of an advanced system capable of creating audio-visual avatars that serve the purpose of converting gestures issued by the elderly into spoken and written language, providing the elderly and people with special needs an overall communication experience.

After the thesis was discussed by the members and the head of the discussion committee, the student obtained a PhD with a Very Good rating in computer science.
