Under the patronage and in the presence of the President of the University of Information Technology and Communications, Prof. Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri,
the University’s Continuous Education Center, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers / International Training, Development and Consulting Team, held the fifth development workshop within the fifth phase for the year 2025, as part of a series of training programs aimed at building the capabilities of state institutions’ employees and supporting digital transformation in Iraq.
The workshop was titled “Integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) with 5G Technology,” and was presented by Lect. Dr. Ansam Ali Abdul Hussein and Assist. Lect. Mr. Mohammed Hassan Maktoof, faculty members at the College of Engineering, University of Information Technology and Communications.
The workshop covered the basic concepts of the Internet of Things and the mechanisms for connecting devices and exchanging data using the latest advanced technologies, in addition to a comprehensive review of modern means of communication and their role in building highly efficient smart systems.
The workshop also focused on the technical capabilities of 5G networks in enhancing connection speed, reducing response time, and supporting wide-area communications between devices, while discussing the most important applications of IoT and 5G integration in smart cities, industry, healthcare, and smart transportation, as well as reviewing the most prominent future challenges and global trends in this field.
A practical demonstration was also carried out in front of the attendees with the aim of enhancing the skill aspect and explaining the mechanism of smart systems in a direct and interactive manner.
The workshop witnessed attendance and meaningful interaction aimed at developing technical skills and keeping pace with the digital transformation process in Iraq.
At the end of the workshop, the University president presented certificates of thanks and appreciation to the professors who presented the workshop.
