The University of Information Technology and Communications participated in an in-person workshop to review the National Data Governance Framework in Iraq. The workshop was held at the Al-Mahatta Foundation for Entrepreneurship, with the participation of several relevant ministries and government institutions.

This participation comes within the framework of the university’s efforts to support national digital transformation initiatives, promote data governance concepts, and contribute to the development of policies and standards that ensure the safe and effective use of national data.

During the workshop, Hassan Muayyad Ibrahim, a faculty member at the Continuing Education Center and the university’s representative, presented the university’s vision for developing the National Data Governance Framework. He contributed to discussions on several key themes, including the organization of roles and responsibilities, data classification, data management and exchange mechanisms, as well as examining legal controls and institutional compliance requirements.

This participation is an important step towards supporting the official adoption of the National Data Governance Framework, solidifying the university’s role as an active partner in building a modern digital state, enabling artificial intelligence applications, and improving the quality of data-driven government services.
