In commemoration of the anniversary of Iraq’s liberation from terrorism and in remembrance of the martyrs’ heroism, the College of Engineering, under the leadership of its Dean, Professor Dr. Mu’ayyad Abdul-Ridha Sahib, held a celebration for Iraqi Victory Day. The event included participation from the Departments of Media and Communications Engineering Technology and the Department of Communications and Mobile Computing Engineering.
The festivities began with speeches and poems recited by several students, embodying pride and resilience, and reflecting the spirit of national belonging and the values of sacrifice and victory demonstrated by our heroes in the liberation battles against the ISIS terrorist organization.
The celebration included a documentary video about the liberation battle, as well as a patriotic presentation by the students. The event concluded with an intellectual competition and cultural questions prepared by one of the faculty members, which garnered significant interaction from the attendees and contributed to raising awareness of modern Iraqi history and reinforcing the concepts of national belonging.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Muayad Abdul-Ridha Sahib, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of commemorating Victory Day and instilling the values of sacrifice and national unity among students. He commended the efforts of the organizing committee and all participants in ensuring the success of the event.
This celebration comes as part of the University of Information Technology and Communications’ commitment to fostering a sense of national pride among its students and commemorating significant milestones in the history of modern Iraq.
