As part of its efforts to enhance academic collaboration and foster openness and cooperation with international expertise at universities worldwide, the University of Information and Communication Technology, represented by its Quality Assurance and University Performance Department and its Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department, organized an online lecture entitled “Effective Performance Feedback.”

The lecture was presented by Associate Professor Dr. Norliza Omar from UCSI University in Malaysia via Google Meet. During the lecture, she emphasized the importance of effective feedback in enhancing motivation, fostering confidence, and promoting continuous improvement in both academic and administrative work environments.

The lecture emphasized the importance of feedback in empowering staff and students to develop their full potential and increase their engagement and active participation, ultimately contributing to enhanced institutional performance and the achievement of the university’s strategic objectives.

The lecture also reviewed the most prominent effective communication strategies for providing feedback, which included:

• Specific and clear feedback

• Focusing on behavior and performance

• Providing timely feedback

• Balancing strengths and weaknesses

• Using respectful and constructive language

The lecture demonstrated that communicative feedback contributes to enhancing alignment between individual performance and organizational goals. It helps employees understand their role in achieving team and organizational objectives, which positively impacts increased accountability, improved coordination, reduced role ambiguity, and empowers individuals to see a broader picture of their long-term performance.
