As part of its support for programming initiatives and fostering youth talent, the University of Information Technology and Communications participated in the first-of-its-kind programming event in Iraq. A select group of its professors and a group of students participated, who excelled as contestants in a variety of programming challenges and questions.
Dr. Alaa Talal Yassin, Head of the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division, delivered a speech in which she emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting students and encouraging them to innovate and participate actively in technical fields. She praised the organizers’ efforts in creating a stimulating, competitive environment. She also emphasized the importance of fostering programming talent among Iraqi youth, appreciating the role and support of the Scientific Care Department for these activities.
The event was organized by the Supernova Programming Team, which includes a group of ambitious university students, under the auspices of the Scientific Sponsorship Department, and with the participation of several sponsors supporting the event. The event witnessed an exciting atmosphere filled with competition and creativity, as the contestants participated in programming challenges and rich interactive segments, which instilled the values of innovation and teamwork among the participating students. This event achieves several sustainable development goals, including Goal (4) Quality Education, Goal (9) Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and Goal (17) Companies for the Goals.
