The Student Activities Department at the University of Information Technology and Communications participated in the Iraqi Universities Athletics Championship, hosted by the University of Baghdad along with a group of universities. The championship was held at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences’ grounds in the Jadriya Complex, with the participation of 70 public and private universities. The championship took place from April 27-29, 2025. The university delegation was headed by the Director of the Student Activities Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Imad Kathim Al-Kaabi, along with a group of elite professors from the department who supervised, trained, and managed the team. Eight players from the university’s colleges participated. The university team consisted of four female students and four male students: two from the College of Medical Informatics and six from the College of Business Informatics. Player Shahd Saddam Jawad from the College of Business Informatics qualified as one of the top eight female players from a total of 70 public and private universities.
The competition featured a variety of events, including the long jump, various running events, hammer throw, and javelin throw.
