On the sidelines of the Iraqi-Iranian Science Week Forum, the University of Information Technology and Communications signed a number of agreements with a group of Iranian universities to develop scientific cooperation. The agreements signed by the university president, Prof. Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, included cooperation with the University of Tehran, Amir Kabir University, Shiraz University of Technology, Razi University, Iran University of Science and Technology, in addition to Tarbiat Modares University, and Tehran University Science and Technology Park. The memoranda of understanding included enhancing scientific exchange in various scientific and technological disciplines, organizing joint training programs for students and faculty members, exchanging academic expertise in the fields of scientific research, developing cooperation in the fields of modern technology and innovation, to focusing on its practical applications that contribute to developing the economic and scientific sectors, and establishing scientific and technical parks in Iraqi universities. The universities of the two countries agreed to implement research projects and encourage cooperation in the field of joint scientific supervision, updating curricula and exchanging scholarships, in addition to finding new opportunities for university cooperation in the field of science and technology parks, building scientific partnerships that include the exchange of faculty members and researchers, and providing scholarship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. The cooperative agreements signed by the university are an achievement of the seventeenth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals, which is to revitalize partnerships to achieve the goals.
