Under the patronage of the University President, Professor Doctor Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, the University’s Women’s Affairs Division organized a celebration to mark Iraqi Women’s Day and Mother’s Day. In their speeches, the University President and his Assistant for Academic Affairs, Professor Louay Adwar George, emphasized the vital role of women in building society. They congratulated all women, especially mothers, wives, and daughters, considering this occasion an opportunity to consolidate women’s status as essential partners in scientific and social progress. For her part, Dr. Asmaa Abdul Hussein, head of the Women’s Affairs Division, delivered a speech highlighting the achievements and sacrifices of Iraqi women, stating that women are an indispensable element in every field and are true partners in achieving excellence and facing challenges despite the difficulties. She also called for supporting women at the university, wishing them success in their academic and professional careers. The event included the recitation of motivational poems and the showcasing of video clips highlighting successful Iraqi women, in addition to honoring female service workers in recognition of their efforts and sacrifices. This celebration affirmed the university’s commitment to supporting women and strengthening their role in the academic and cultural fields.
