Led by the university president, Prof. Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, a delegation from the University of Information Technology and Communications visited the United Arab Emirates to explore smart buildings and meet with implementing companies.

The delegation reviewed the latest developments in the field of smart buildings, particularly those related to the construction of specialized establishment of university buildings using smart university methods. The focus was on developing smart infrastructure and the technical systems utilized by specialized companies in this field to achieve benefits and keep pace with advancements in teaching, training, scientific and research centers, and employee management. The aim is to create a developed model in Iraq and the region, with the Ministry of Higher Education being the first to invest in smart buildings to provide energy sources and reduce traditional management costs.

The university delegation included Ms. Dunya Wathiq Hashim, Director of the Department of Construction and Projects, and Senior Engineer Aqeel Sahib Alai. It is worth noting that the University of Information Technology and Communications is currently working on establishing a comprehensive university building in Baghdad according to advanced scientific specifications that align with its academic specialization.
