In cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC) organized a workshop titled “Improving the Quality of Healthcare through Electronic Registration in Health Insurance”, with the participation of a number of the university’s staff members.
The workshop aimed to introduce participants to one of the fundamental rights that the state strives to provide for its citizens — the Health Insurance System. It also sought to clarify the mechanisms of electronic registration and the procedures related to those covered by the system, as well as to discuss the subscription fees for employees and retirees and their counterparts in the private sector.
In addition, the workshop provided a detailed explanation of the categories included under the healthcare system.
The speakers reviewed the Health Insurance Book and the list of government and private hospitals and clinics covered by the system, including dental clinics, emphasizing the importance of this system in enhancing the quality of healthcare services and improving the efficiency of medical resource management.
The workshop featured valuable interventions by the University Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jaafar Athab Angood, and several faculty members who enriched the discussion with their experiences and insights regarding the implementation mechanisms of the system in government institutions.
This workshop was presented by Asst. Lect. Omar Hadi Ali, Asst. Lect. Asmaa Abdulrahman, and Asst. Lect. Anmar Thamer Ali from the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department. They concluded by stressing the importance of promoting health awareness among employees and encouraging them to register in the electronic health insurance system, given its direct impact on improving the overall quality of healthcare in Iraq.
