The Center for Continuing Education at the university, in collaboration with the Training, Development, and International Consulting Team at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, organized a workshop as part of the capacity-building training program for digital transformations for the first half of 2025. The workshop focused on the importance of digital infrastructure and its role in digital transformation.
The workshop aims to introduce the components provided by digital infrastructure as a foundation to support digital transformation, and the design and implementation of digital network infrastructure in an institution consisting of several buildings using Mikrotik & Ubiquiti devices.
The workshop, presented by Assistant Professor Aws Hamad Kurdi from the College of Business Informatics, covered topics including the design and implementation of monitoring, security, and employee attendance systems based on the infrastructure, the design and implementation of an internal communications system, and the connection of office and mobile communication devices using the Sangoma FreePBX system. The workshop also included a practical demonstration of an integrated infrastructure serving an institution with multiple buildings located in geographically dispersed sites, connected via VPN technology.
The workshop was attended by a number of employees from ministries and state institutions to benefit from these sessions.
On his part, the university president, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, honored the instructor with a certificate of appreciation, emphasizing the importance of benefiting from such workshops that contribute to providing high-quality services.
