In a scientific achievement reflecting the distinguished research presence of the University of Information Technology and Communications, Assist. Lect. Rana Abdul-Hadi, a lecturer in the Biomedical Informatics College, participated in publishing a scientific chapter in a peer-reviewed academic book issued by an international publishing house, World Scientific Publishing Company for the year 2025.

The scientific chapter was titled:
An Efficient Algorithm Based on Orthonormal Bernstein Functions for Solving Optimal Control Problems”, which deals with the development of an efficient algorithm based on standard orthogonal Bernstein functions to handle optimal control problems.

The research aims to present an advanced computer technique for processing derivatives of state variables within the dynamic constraints of Quadratic Optimal Control Problems (QOCP), based on basis functions derived from standard orthogonal Bernstein polynomials with unknown coefficients, due to their high numerical stability and efficiency in representing complex functions and analyzing errors with advanced accuracy.

This research work was crowned by the signing of an agreement to transfer intellectual property and official copyright with the international publishing institution, after successfully passing the requirements of scientific evaluation and academic arbitration, achieving results that showed high computational efficiency and a significant reduction in algorithmic complexity compared to traditional methods.
