Dr. Nada Nizar Kadhem, a lecturer in the Department of Bioinformatics at the College of Biomedical Medical Informatics, has published a scientific paper entitled:
“Gene Expression of MicroRNA-205, FGF2 and CARMA3 in Colorectal Cancer in Iraqi Patients.”
The paper examined the gene expression of MicroRNA-205, FGF2, and CARMA3 in patients with colorectal cancer in Iraq, with the aim of evaluating their potential as biomarkers for early diagnosis, particularly in light of the increasing incidence rates of this type of cancer.
The findings demonstrated the potential utility of these biomarkers—especially when used in combination—in enhancing the accuracy of early diagnosis and improving the chances of disease detection.
The paper was published in the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention (APJCP), a peer-reviewed scientific journal indexed in the Scopus database and dedicated to publishing specialized research in the field of cancer biology.
