Fatima Asa’ad Hikmat, a master’s student in the Department of Mobile Communications and Computing Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Communications, delivered a scientific lecture as part of the workshop entitled “The Importance of Artificial Intelligence and its Impact on Society”, which was held by the Artificial Intelligence Club at the Technical Institute in Al-Shatra.
The workshop included several topics, which addressed the definition of the concept of artificial intelligence and its historical development, as well as reviewing its most prominent modern applications in the fields of communications, engineering, education and service sectors, while highlighting its role in supporting digital transformation and raising the efficiency of institutional performance.
The workshop also reviewed the positive effects of artificial intelligence on society, particularly in facilitating procedures, increasing productivity and supporting decision-making, in addition to discussing the most prominent technical and ethical challenges associated with the use of these technologies, and ways to deal with them in a way that ensures safe and responsible use.
The workshop aimed to spread technical culture and raise awareness of the importance of artificial intelligence and keeping pace with modern scientific developments, in addition to encouraging scientific research and interest in advanced technologies, in order to contribute to building a knowledge society capable of keeping pace with the requirements of the times.
