The College of Engineering organized a scientific workshop entitled “Teaching Strategies and Their Formulation in Course Descriptions According to the Bologna Process,” as part of its efforts to develop faculty skills and enhance the quality of the educational process.

The workshop, presented by Assistant Lecturer Atheer Marouf Al-Jalabi and Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Zaidan Eidi, addressed the concept of a teaching strategy as an integrated plan that organizes the elements of the educational process, starting with defining course objectives and learning outcomes, moving through teaching methods and educational activities, and culminating in assessment tools and techniques. It also reviewed the mechanism for integrating these elements within the course description in accordance with the requirements of the Bologna Process.

The workshop included practical applications in several engineering disciplines, including electrical engineering and programming, to demonstrate how to formulate an effective teaching strategy that is linked to learning outcomes and contributes to achieving them within lectures and laboratories.

The workshop also emphasized the importance of distinguishing between educational activities and assessment tools, and the necessity of selecting teaching methods that suit the nature of the content and the characteristics of the students, thus fostering a more interactive and clear learning experience.
