The College of Business Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UOITC) hosted the third meeting of the Industrial Advisory Board. The session was chaired by the Dean of the College and Chairperson of the Advisory Board, Assistant Professor Dr. Nagham Hamed Abdul-Mahdi, with the participation of a select group of academics and private sector representatives.
The meeting reviewed several partnership experiences between the public and private sectors, highlighting successful models for absorbing Iraqi university graduates through specialized corporate training and qualification programs.
Discussions also addressed mechanisms for integrating graduates into the labor market and the challenges they encounter. Furthermore, the meeting identified the essential skills required to keep pace with modern workplace demands, contributing to bridging the gap between educational outcomes and labor market needs.
Participants emphasized the importance of developing academic curricula to align with rapid technological advancements. They also stressed the need to enhance the role of the private sector in supporting and qualifying youth, enabling them to secure employment opportunities within Iraq.
