ResearchThe College of Business Informatics, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education at the University, organized a scientific workshop entitled: “The Electronic Plagiarism Detection Program (Turnitin) and Mechanisms for Its Use in Auditing Scientific Research.” The workshop was presented by the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Rula Amjad Hamed, and the Head of the Scientific Affairs Division at the College, Dr. Mohammed Ali.The workshop reviewed the concept of the Turnitin program and its importance in detecting similarity percentages in scientific research. It also clarified the mechanisms for using the software, reading electronic plagiarism reports, and accurately interpreting their results. Furthermore, the session highlighted the program’s role in consolidating the principles of academic integrity and curbing the phenomenon of plagiarism in educational institutions.The workshop emphasized the importance of scientific peer-review and content verification by researchers and specialists. It stressed the necessity of dealing with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools as supportive aids rather than substitutes for rigorous scientific effort, thereby contributing to elevating research quality and maintaining accredited academic standards.
