As part of its efforts to promote health awareness and develop students’ practical skills, the College of Biomedical Informatics held a two-day awareness and training workshop titled “Seconds Save Lives: First Aid Basics,” attended by a group of students and university staff.

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Khadija Abbas Sahn, a faculty member, and paramedic Abdullah Hassan Abdullah. It covered the basic principles of first aid and how to respond appropriately to emergencies, as well as the essential steps for providing immediate assistance to injured people before specialized medical teams arrive.

The workshop highlighted the importance of having the knowledge and skills needed to respond quickly to emergencies, helping reduce complications and improve the chances of saving lives. It also sought to foster a culture of first aid as a shared community responsibility that requires awareness and preparedness.
