As part of its efforts to support environmental initiatives and expand green spaces, the College of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC), in cooperation with the Community Awareness Department and Al-Karkh Municipality, affiliated with the Baghdad Mayoralty, organised a tree-planting campaign across the college grounds and garden, involving the planting of a variety of seasonal plants.
The campaign also featured a meeting between the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Intisar Shadeed Al-Majbali, and representatives of the municipality and the Community Awareness Department.
Discussions focused on strengthening joint cooperation, organising future environmental and awareness campaigns, and contributing to national tree-planting initiatives.
A number of the college’s faculty members and students also took part in the campaign.
This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of volunteerism and environmental responsibility among students, expanding green spaces, and improving the campus environment. It also highlights the importance of strengthening partnerships with municipal and community institutions in support of national efforts to protect the environment and promote sustainability.
