The College of Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UOITC) organized an awareness seminar for first-year students titled “Rights and Obligations of University Students.” The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Abbas and Lecturer Ghosoon Saeed from the Department of Media Technology and Communications Engineering.
The seminar aimed to educate students about their rights and responsibilities within the academic environment, contributing to their intellectual and cultural development throughout their studies. It covered several key pillars, most notably defining university prohibitions and behaviors to be avoided, as well as discussing the challenges students may encounter during their university life and strategies to address them positively.
Furthermore, the seminar addressed student rights to ensure a successful educational experience, emphasizing the importance of complying with the laws and regulations issued by the Ministry and the University. It also highlighted university conduct and the significance of fostering a culture of discipline and respect toward university administration, faculty members, and staff.
