The Department of Media and Communication Technology Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Information Technology and Communications, concluded the activities of a technical training workshop hosted by Future Art Broadcast Trading.
The workshop was dedicated to second-, third-, and fourth-year students, under the supervision of the assistant lecturer Aws Jabbar, with the participation of a select group of specialists in photography and lighting.
The workshop included a number of theoretical and practical modules that contributed to enhancing students’ technical skills and expanding their applied knowledge in line with the requirements of the media job market.
It also featured a specialized session entitled “Basic and Advanced Camera Techniques,” delivered by Salam Marshli, a Netherlands-based Director of Photography and Editor at Dutch television, and a lecturer in lighting. The session reviewed the latest professional methods for handling cameras and adjusting their settings to achieve optimal image quality.
The training program further addressed lighting distribution through a practical explanation of professional cinematic lighting techniques, supported by hands-on applications focusing on controlling light sources, determining appropriate angles, and highlighting the aesthetic aspects of the scene to achieve high visual quality.
