Professor Dr. Nagham Hamed Abdul-Mahdi, Dean of the College of Business Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UOITC), participated as a member of the specialized ministerial committee tasked with reviewing the establishment of a Master’s degree program in Information Security Engineering at the Al-Maarif Postgraduate Institute.This participation underscores the active and vital role played by the university’s academic faculties in supporting the development of postgraduate studies. It also highlights the launch of specialized disciplines that keep pace with rapid advancements in cyber security and information technology.The committee’s work involved reviewing the scientific and academic dimensions of the proposed curriculum, as well as evaluating the available human resources, physical capabilities, and infrastructure. Furthermore, the committee verified compliance with all establishment requirements in accordance with the standards and regulations set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.The launch of this program represents a significant milestone toward supplying the labor market with highly specialized professionals in the field of information security. This step will actively support digital transformation, strengthen the national cyber security framework, and elevate the standard of scientific research and postgraduate studies in Iraq.
