The President of the University of Information Technology and Communications, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, received a delegation from the Karbala Center for Studies and Research at the Holy Hussainiy Shrine, headed by Dr. Abdul Amir Aziz Karim Al-Quraishi, the Director of the Center. The visit aimed to strengthen scientific and academic cooperation and to acknowledge the university’s contributions in supporting research activities and events.

During the meeting, the delegation expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the university administration and staff, praising the fruitful collaboration and effective support provided by the university to ensure the success of the Tenth International Conference for the Blessed Arbaeen, which was held from August 7-8, 2026, corresponding to 23-24 Safar 1448 AH. They highlighted the scientific and moral support offered by the university, which contributed to achieving the conference’s goals and presenting it at a level befitting its scientific and humanitarian significance.

Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri affirmed the university’s readiness to enhance cooperation with the center and the scientific institutions affiliated with the Holy Hussainiy Shrine, especially in research, technological, and digital fields, in a way that contributes to utilizing modern technologies for scientific research and documenting the cultural and intellectual heritage of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

For his part, Dr. Al-Quraishi emphasized the Karbala Center for Studies and Research’s commitment to expanding areas of cooperation with the University of Information Technology and Communications, taking advantage of its scientific and technological capabilities to support research activities and organize joint scientific events and conferences.

At the end of the visit, the delegation presented a certificate of appreciation and an honorary shield to the university president in recognition of the university’s efforts, collaboration, and scientific support in ensuring the success of the Tenth International Conference for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. The university president expressed his gratitude to the delegation for this initiative, affirming that the university will continue to support purposeful scientific and research initiatives that serve the community.
