Dr. Alaa Talal Yassin, Head of the Science and Technology Parks and Technology Incubators Department at the University of Information Technology and Communications, participated in specialized workshops held on the sidelines of the third Iraq Education Conference (Iraq Education Conference – 3rd Edition). The conference, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with Clarivate Analytics, took place from October 25-27, 2026, at the University of Al-Naji Theater.

This participation aligns with the university’s and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s efforts to develop the higher education system and enhance the quality of scientific research and innovation. This is achieved by learning about the latest international practices and experiences in global rankings and the quality of academic output.

The workshops addressed specialized topics focusing on strengthening the innovation ecosystem, supporting technology incubators, improving the quality of scientific production, and utilizing international indicators and standards to enhance the presence of Iraqi universities in international rankings.

Dr. Alaa Talal Yassin emphasized the importance of participating in the exchange of expertise with international specialists, experts, and academic and administrative staff. This participation supports the development of the department’s work and contributes to achieving the Ministry’s goals of advancing higher education and scientific research, promoting innovation, and transitioning towards a knowledge-based economy.
